Introduction

This exercise program is designed to help you safely regain strength and mobility following fracture treatment. Always follow your orthopedic surgeon's specific instructions and timeline.

General Guidelines

  • Start exercises only when cleared by your physician
  • Stop if you experience increased pain or swelling
  • Perform exercises 2-3 times daily
  • Complete 10-15 repetitions of each exercise

Phase 1: Early Recovery Exercises

Range of Motion Exercises

  1. Gentle Flexion/Extension

    • Move joint slowly through available range
    • Stay within pain-free range
    • Hold 5-10 seconds
  2. Isometric Contractions

    • Gently tighten muscles without moving joint
