Pre-Treatment Medications (7 Days Before)

Discontinue the Following:

  • Retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene)
  • Alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic, lactic acid)
  • Beta hydroxy acids (salicylic acid)
  • Vitamin C products
  • Any photosensitizing medications

Day of Treatment

Morning of Procedure:

  • Take prescribed antiviral medication if recommended
  • Avoid applying any topical products
  • If prescribed, take oral anti-anxiety medication 1 hour before

Post-Treatment Schedule

Days 1-3:

  • Apply prescribed antibiotic ointment 3-4 times daily
  • Use recommended moisturizer as needed
  • Take oral antiviral medication as prescribed

Days 4-7:

  • Continue moisturizer application
  • Begin gentle cleanser use twice daily
  • Apply SPF 30+ when outdoors

Days 8-14:

  • Resume normal gentle skincare routine
  • Continue sun protection
  • Avoid harsh products

After 2 Weeks:

  • Gradually reintroduce regular skincare products
  • Continue daily sun protection

Important Notes

  • Contact your provider if experiencing:
    • Severe pain or burning
    • Unusual swelling
    • Signs of infection
    • Blistering
  • Keep all follow-up appointments
  • Maintain photographic documentation if requested
