When to Use This Plan

Implement these steps when experiencing:

• Sudden severe breakouts
• Painful cystic acne
• Significant inflammation
• Acne that interferes with daily activities

Immediate Actions

1. DO NOT:

• Pick or squeeze lesions
• Apply harsh scrubs or new products
• Use hot water on affected areas
• Layer multiple treatments

2. DO:

• Gently cleanse with lukewarm water
• Apply ice (wrapped in cloth) for 1-2 minutes
• Use prescribed emergency medications as directed

Emergency Medications

• Spot Treatment: Apply prescribed benzoyl peroxide or antibiotic gel
• Oral Medication: Take prescribed antibiotic if part of your plan
• Anti-inflammatory: Use prescribed cortisone preparation if available

When to Contact Your Dermatologist

Seek immediate consultation if:

1. Severe pain or swelling develops
2. Fever occurs with breakout
3. Lesions spread rapidly
4. No improvement after 48 hours
